Carden + Mikayla chose to get married on the Isle of Skye in Northwest Scotland. Mikayla has strong family ancestry in Scotland, so it was extremely special for her and her family to celebrate love there.
Eilean Donan, a beautiful castle which began as a stronghold to protect the lands of Kintail against the Vikings, was an incredible backdrop for their intimate ceremony. Carden’s father officiated their ceremony, and shared “just as Eilean Donan stands proudly today, stronger than ever…so too may your love endure, grow, and be restored with the challenges and the triumphs of your life together”.
The day before their celebration with family, Mikayla and Carden chose to exchange private vows out in the highlands. It was beautiful, emotional, and perfectly secluded. Through rain, and cold wind, and muddy trails, these two adventured around the Isle of Skye hand in hand. We explored the Quiraing together and found ourselves in constant amazement of what our eyes were witnessing. The joyful anticipation of what was to come the next day was evident.
